Wadadli Girls Blow Out Montserrat, Barbados Get Back-to-Back Wins in ECCB International Netball Series

Antigua and Barbuda Wadadli Girls made light work of Montserrat when they met in the ECCB International Netball Series at the YMCA Sports Complex on Thursday night.

Playing on a rain-affected night, Antigua and Barbuda dominated their opponents to win 59-8 in the only completed game of the evening.

They were led by goal shoot Rayana Regis who sank 43 of her 62 attempts. Goal attack Kizzy Hughes contributed 11 of 17 attempts, while Tashana Bloomfield picked up a perfect five of five attempts.  

Goal shoot Juana Osbourne led the way for Montserrat with six of her 12 attempts while goal attack Amika Osbourne picked up two of 10.

The win was Antigua and Barbuda’s third of the tournament and follows a 53-34 loss to Grenada on Wednesday.

Also on Thursday, Barbados defeated St Kitts and Nevis 74-34.

Goal attack Latonia Blackman carried the brunt of the scoring for Barbados, taking home 33 of her 37 attempts. She had help from goal shoot Faye Agard who sank 19 of 22 and substitute goal shoot Brianna Holder landed 16 from 22 tries.

Goal shoot Aaliyah Gibson shot 27 of 41 in a losing cause for St Kitts and Nevis with goal attack Roshella Challenger hitting seven of her 12 attempts.

Thursday’s other matches; Cayman Islands vs St. Lucia and Grenada vs Dominica were affected by rain and will be concluded on Saturday, according to officials.

Meanwhile, on Friday morning, St Kitts and Nevis edged St Lucia 44-40. Challenger led the charge with 24 of 26 attempts while Gibson sank 20 of 29. For St Lucia, goal attack Melika Destang hit 21 of 30 and goal shoot Jacqueline Remy added 19 of her 27 attempts to the losing effort.

Also, Barbados beat Dominica 79-46; goal shoot Agard carried the brunt of the scoring with 48 of 56 attempts while, for Dominica, goal attack Galiene Gordon-Seraphine led her team’s scoring with 26 of 27.
