Sandals win in overtime

Sandals pushed their record to 6-1 in the ongoing Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business league as the powerhouse team picked up an overtime, 76-70 win over Eye Mobile Vision Care on Sunday night.
Eye Mobile hung their heads in disappointment after blowing a 13-point lead in the second half to give Sandals the momentum needed to push the match to overtime tied at 59-all.
Despite a minor hiccup by Adissa “Rassi” Harris of Sandals the team rallied to take the match.
Harris ended the encounter with 14 points while the leading scorer for the victors was Devorn Benjamin who sank 29.
Teammates, Keroi “Dragon” Lee and Keddie Martin netted 14 and 13 points respectively.
National player, Adonis Humphreys, netted 24 points for Eye Mobile while teammates Ahmani Browne and Bernard Andrew chipped in scoring 14 points each in a losing effort.
Former champions, Kennedys, continue to make their dominance known this season as they remain the only undefeated team.
Kennedys, led by Javon Simon with 19 points and Xavier “Xman” Meade with 12 points, edged out newbies, Flow, 66-58.
New addition, Leroy Percival, led Flow in scoring with 15 points while Daryll Matthew, Minister of Sports contributed with 13.
Fayr Christopher also of Flow had 10 points.
In the other matches played that night, Dadli Designs went under to APUA Head Office, 57-43 while Fitzroy Rewinding trounced Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) United, 61-36.
Head office’s Tavarus Benta had 16 points while Felix Hamilton sank 17 points for Dadli Designs.
Fitzroy’s Damien Simon netted 12 points while Airport’s Joel Christian had 12 points in a losing effort. (Carlena Knight)
