Old Road FC started off their Antigua Premier League title run with an authoritative start with a 5-2 win over the Pigotts Bullets SC on Monday at the ABFA Technical Centre.
Scoring first in the eighth minute was Akeem Isaac of Bullets SC to help his team go ahead 1-nil. Then Marcken Dorisca added the second goal in the 34th minute to make the scoreline 2-nil, but two minutes later an onslaught like no other occurred.
Fresh from international duty was Raheem Deterville to strike home the first goal for Old Road FC in the 36th minute to change the scoreline to two-one. Rodney Lawrence was handed a red card in the 39th minute for serious foul play to reduce the round south team to 10 men before the first half ended.

At the resumption of the second half, Stefan Smith scored in the 55th and 69th to turn the game around in the favour of Old Road FC. To add more fuel to the already burning fire, Bullets were also reduced to 10 men after Jamarlie Stevens was sent off after receiving two cautions, and with tired legs and open spaces, Old Road FC made them pay in the final minutes of extra time.

Deterville added his second goal in the 90+2nd minute before Malcolm O’Neil Lennon’s 90+7th minute strike closed the game out 5-2.

Matches will continue on Saturday and will see Old Road coming up against Empire at 4pm while Sap clash with Parham at 6pm, and Grenades take on Garden Stars at 8pm.

All matches will be played at the ABFA Technical Centre.
