Adrian Norford successfully defended his title during the Antigua Open Golf Championship at Cedar Valley over the weekend. The St Kitts player, who won the marquee tournament in 2020 when it was last played, came home ahead of his rivals with a two-day tally of 143 to retain the trophy.

Marlon George was second with a score of 145.

There was victory as well for Katherine Woodhouse, who emphatically stamped her authority on her competition to win the ladies category. Her 36-hole total of 158 earned her the top prize as she finished six shots clear of Andreina Dela Cruz.

There were prizes as well for Tedson Weatherill, Dwayne Hill and Charles “The Rock” Blake.

Weatherill took the men’s A Flight ahead of Marcus Franker, while Hill was victor in the B section over Tyler Hughes. Blake of St Kitts edged Antigua’s Eldine “Soca” Baptiste for the trophy.

Meanwhile, there were a few winners of net prizes and among them were two former West Indies players, Baptiste and Sylvester “Bouncing” Joseph. The other winners were Dela Cruz and Byron Andrews.

The event was sponsored by the West Indies Oil Company, Horizons Food, Eighteen Plus One Restaurant, Paradiso Water, Flow, H&G Paints Antigua, Ace Enterprise and Bryson’s Ltd.
