TG Welding, Living Styles and ABDF win in MPL Sherma Jackson Business League

TG Welding remained atop the standings of the MPL Cool & Smooth-sponsored Sherma Jackson Business League softball cricket competition with a close two-run triumph over Time of Victory on Sunday.

Batting first at the Potters playing field, TG Welding amassed 94 for three in their allotment of 10 overs with Charanlal Ramjohn and Hugan Tongue both hitting 26. Kimberly Anthony contributed with 16 runs.

When their turn at the crease arrived, Time of Victory fell just short at 92 for eight in their 10 overs despite 42 from Demari Benta. Essan Warner contributed to the losing effort with 19. Tongue was the pick of the bowlers for the victors with three wickets for 17 runs in two overs. Tongue and Anthony were named male and female players of the game.

Also on Sunday, Living Styles easily dispatched of Grill Box by nine wickets. Grill Box, batting first, posted 83 for three in their 10 overs with a top knock of 30 from Hezekiah Weston. Baldwin “Spliff” Anthony contributed with 19.

Living Styles easily reached their target at 86, losing just one wicket in the process. Shaquan Reifer led the charge with 37 not out, while Jewel Andrew made 25.

In the other match contested Sunday, Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) made light work of PEL Desi Boys to win by nine wickets.

Opting to bat first, Desi Boys could only muster 74 for four in their allotted 10 overs with Bramha Achar hitting a top score of 31. Malique Marcillin was the pick of the bowlers for the victors with two wickets for six runs from two overs.

ABDF, led by Vaughn Charles with 34, reached 79 for one in just five overs. There was also contribution of 25 not out from Quincie France. Charles and Juliana Richards were adjudged the male and female players of the game.
