Four teams to battle it out in semis of Gordon ‘Banks’ Derrick football competition

The semi-finals of the Gordon ‘Banks’ Derrick Kings of the West Memorial Football Cup will kick off on Tuesday with four teams battling it out for a spot in the finals.

West Ham FC will face Fort Road FC at the Princess Margaret School (PMS) playing field, while Earthquake FC will play Blackburn FC at Fort Road.

Earthquake stamped their spot in the semis after handing Fort Road FC a 3-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon at Fort Road.

Kadeem Campbell was one goal shy of a hat-trick scoring in the fourth and 70th minutes of play.

His teammate, Michael Peters, was the goal-scorer for the victors, finding the back of the net in minute 29.

Jamel Gordon was the lone goal-scorer for Fort Road.

West Ham FC also rounded off their regular season campaign with a victory, this time over FC Aston Villa.

West Ham trounced their neighbours 3-0 at the PMS playing field as Carl Kirby (ninth), Jahmarley Barzey (14th) and Stefan Whyte (37th) all found the back of the net for the victors.

Both semi-final matches will kick off at 5pm on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in the Anderson E Carty Grays Green Community Football League, Green City stunned Five Islands FC handing them a 1-0.

Hoppers and Bendals played to a one-all draw while Attackers defeated Upsetters 2-0.
