Five Islands continue to dominate First Division while Police stay in promotion race

Five Islands FC continued their march towards the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division with a comfortable 2-0 win over former top flight champions Lion Hill as they open a seven-point gap at the top of the First Division standings.

Playing at home, Five Islands had both goals coming in the first half with single strikes from Jaheim Jeremy and Demario Roberts. Jeremy netted in the 22nd while Roberts scored in the 36th minute. The win lifts Five Islands to 40 points from 15 showings while Lion Hill remains on 15 points after 14 showings and sixth on the standings. 

Meanwhile, Attacking Saints were pegged back in their promotion efforts when they were beaten 3-0 by Police FC at the ABFA Technical Center.

Clinton Daniels led the charge for the lawmen with a double strike, scoring in minutes 66 and 78 while Dimitri Scotland had opened the scoring for Police in minute 24. The win carries Police to 30 points after 15 showings and third on the standings as they continue to hunt for an automatic promotion spot. Saints remain on 24 points from 15 outings and fourth on the 11 team standings.
