Da Project and Pointvill Ballers get Second Division wins in ABBA basketball

There were wins for Da Project and Pointvill Ballers in Division 2 of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) competition on Wednesday as both teams picked up only their second win in four matches.

Contesting the opening game of a double-header, Pointvill Ballers enjoyed a comfortable 66-41 triumph over Cristos United at the JSC basketball complex. Ballers outscored their opponents in all four quarters, dominating 16-8, 10-4, 17-10 and 23-19 wins respectively.

Kebo Orford and Skyy Nedd led the charge for Ballers with 21 points each. Orford also contributed with nine rebounds. There was assistance as well from Connell Nedd who sank 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. In s losing effort, Dorian James picked up 20 points and 12 rebounds for Cristos United.

Meanwhile, Da Project enjoyed a close 60-54 triumph over Lower Ottos Warriors when they met in the feature contest.

In the game where the lead switched hands several times, Ottos Warriors claimed the first quarter 14-10 before taking the second quarter 16-14. Da Project then snatched the final two quarters 16-15 and 20-9 to claim the contest.

Veteran, Bryan “Hollywood” Matthew led the charge for the winners with 20 points and 19 rebounds while Eric Joseph contributed with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ariel Quallis sank a game high of 25 points and picked up nine rebounds in a losing effort for Ottos Warriors.
