Wright is right: Local basketball to receive promotion boost

The Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) has partnered with H Wright Promotions to assist in the marketing of its product; basketball.

On Tuesday, the President of the association, Michael Freeland officially signed a contract with the owner of H Wright Promotions, Humroy Wright, to help promote the sport with the aim of making it more popular in the country.

Newly appointed General Secretary and Public Relations Officer of the ABBA, Carlena Knight highlighted that the company has already begun work and has already garnered much engagement from the public with some short highlights of the ABBA First Division which have gained well over ten thousand views.

President Freeland highlighted the importance of social media and how it will be used to push the association’s product.

He said that he was proud to have H Wright Promotions onboard to help in the Association’s aim to promote sport to be the “number one number two sport in Antigua”.

Wright’s company was selected due to the fact that he has knowledge of the sport and is also a player in the association’s league.

The owner said that he was happy to be chosen to undertake the task of promoting the sport.

He believes the game has taught him life lessons such as discipline which has made him the man that he is today.

Wright, whose company is well known for the events it has promoted, promised to elevate the sport and has the team to make it a possibility.

He said his company aims to showcase the talents in Antigua and Barbuda, and help every child to achieve their dream by providing the exposure they need to be seen around the world.

The content created by the company will be promoted on the ABBA’s social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.

The ABBA’s Division One and Two games are played at the JSC Sports Complex and they are hoping to boost the turnout of the fans and supporters.
