Tryum stun SAP as Bendals thrash 5Ps

Tryum pulled off a big upset on Wednesday afternoon in the ongoing Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) 1st Division, beating SAP FC, 2-0, on their home turf.

Leon Moses Jr and Curlon Joseph hit home for Tryum with 36 points to move them two points behind of second placed SAP, and three points behind first placed Empire FC.

FC Aston Villa joined Tryum in the winner’s circle after edging out Island Original John Hughes, 3-2, in John Hughes.

Omega Jeffrey (15th), Luis Fernando Da Silva (31st) and Dashawn Stanton (51st) all found the back of the net for Villa to move them onto 33 points in fourth position.

Villa still have three games in hand, while John Hughes slumped to 8th with 24 points.

Bryan Burton (10th) and Dino Bryan (39th) were the goal-scorers.

Potters Tigers’ dry slump continues as this time they went under to Police by a 3-1 margin.

Despite a goal from Kevin Carr, the Tigers did not have enough bite and were apprehended by the lawmen.

Jenson Samuel was a goal shy of a hattrick for Police, as he scored in the 67th and 81st minutes. This followed a 52nd minute strike from Chad Vidal.

Meanwhile, in Division 2, Abaya FC and Molwyn Joseph Bendals FC recorded wins.

Abaya edged out FC Master Ballers 1-0 with a strike from Jetwane Browne (10th) while Bendals trounced 5Ps Wadadli FC 4-1.

Alvah Guishard recorded a hattrick for Bendals scoring in the 32nd, 53rd and 60th minutes of play.

Dequan Martin (35th) was the other goal-scorer.

Josh Greenidge was the goal-scorer for 5Ps.

Abaya moved to 9th with 22 points on the Zone 1 standings, while Master Ballers slipped to 6th with 32.

Bendals are 2nd with 45, while 5Ps are 11th with 12 points.
