A 20-year-old man, Daniel Westford, will stand trial on Thursday before Justice Ann-Marie Smith for allegedly wounding a 14-year-old boy a few years ago.

On September 15 2017, the complainant was reportedly heading home from school when he was approached by the defendant – who was 15 at the time – and the two eventually began fighting.

Reports further state that an adult was able to separate them but then the accused reportedly picked up a piece of road surfacing and struck the complainant in his head.

The alleged victim is said to have received a depressed skull bone fracture which landed him in the hospital for about two weeks.

Having denied the charge, Westford will stand trial on July 7.
