Strictly Business and Flyers pick up wins on rain marred day in T20 Softball

A rainy weekend saw the abandonment of several matches in the Antigua and Barbuda Softball Cricket League.

Matches between Dredgers and Lees Landscaping 300, Potters Uprising Serpents and Bryson’s Shipping and Insurance Bullets were all abandoned due to wet outfields.

The only match played in the Male Competition were between Buckley’s 3J’s and Rackaman Construction Strictly Business.

Buckley’s won the toss and elected to bat first and were bundled out for 106 for 8 (all out) from 12.4 overs.

Captain Nigel Fergus top scored with 33 and Denley Thomas 28.

Alwyn Colbourne picked up two for three runs, Arthur Crogman two for 29 while Owen Graham had two for 32.

Strictly Business replied with 107 for three from 12.2 overs with Kim George and Kerry Mentore top scored with 40 while Randino Turner two for 29.

They won the match by seven wickets.

Results in the Goody’s Taxi Service & Tours Sherma Jackson ABSCA Female T20 Competition saw Alzarri Joseph Sharon Joseph Female Flyers defeat Jennings Rocket by nine runs.

Female Flyers won the toss and batted first reaching 118 for five from 20 overs.

Leeward Islands wicketkeeper batter Terez Parker had a top score of 49 with Robinette Burton making 33 while Kushana David collected two for 17 runs.

Rockets in reply got to 109 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs as David stroked 52.

Veteran Gaynell O’Garro grabbed two for 12 and Monique Titus had two for 38.

The match between Rackaman Construction Strictly Business and Wayne’s Electrical Services Survivors was abandoned due to rain.
