The Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association (ABAVA) local league continued on Saturday at the YMCA Sports Complex with victories for Sharks and Stoneville.

In the first match between Sharks and Stoneville that was never really played, Sharks could not field six players for the game, hence they easily handed the match to Stoneville 3-0.

The scores for each set were Stoneville 25 – 0, 25 – 0 and 25-0.

It means that Stoneville received two bonus points to go with the win taking them back to the top spot with 34 points.

The second encounter of the evening saw Top Ranking Storming Lions battling High Flyerz1 in an exciting match that was closely fought with impressive performances from both teams.

High Flyerz 1 came out firing, putting lots of pressure on the Storming Lions, but they could not close-out the opening set.

The Lions’ roar was too loud for the Flyerz 1, although the other two sets were nail-biting ones. Indeed, they could have been anyone’s game.

High Flyerz could not find it in themselves to finish, hence Storming Lions took the bull by the horns and demolished their opponents in two straight sets, emerging victorious with a score of 3-0.

Both teams displayed great talent throughout the match, making it a truly memorable contest. The set scores were as follows with winning Storming Lions 25 – 23, 27 – 25, 25 – 21.

The entire match lasted approximately 1 hour and 18 minutes.
