Stingerz rebound while Full Throttle hand All Saints Slam another defeat in Division 1 basketball

Northside Stingers rebounded from a recent loss to defending champions Flyers Basketball, handing Spanish Heat a 93-82 loss in Division 1 of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) competition on Wednesday night.

Playing at the JSC basketball complex, Stingerz outscored Spanish Heat in the first three quarters. They claimed the first quarter 21-13 before outscoring the opponents 26-23 in the second quarter. The championship hopefuls then claimed the third quarter 29-18 but took their foot off the gas in the fourth quarter as they were outscored 28-17 by the opponents.

Keroi Lee led the scoring for Stingerz with a game-high 28 points on 9 of 12 shooting, while also grabbing 21 rebounds and dishing seven assists. Lee had help from Joshua Minner with 21 points and 9 rebounds, while Jayzee Saltibus added 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Devonte Carter chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.

In a losing effort for Spanish Heat, Andrew Venture top-scored with 25 points and seven rebounds with Kelvyn Pimental adding 15 points and eight rebounds.

There was victory as well for Ottos Full Throttle as they beat All Saints Slam 79-58, also at JSC. Full Throttle outscored Slam in the first three quarters, winning 25-17, 22-14, and 21-10, respectively. Slam outscored the opponents 17-11 in the fourth and final quarter.

Warren Bogle was the leading contributor for Full Throttle with 24 points and seven rebounds. Akeem Davis added 12 points and eight rebounds to the winning effort. John Rolland Jr was the chief contributor for Slam with 11 points and 17 rebounds.
