Spotlight on Africa for Black History Month

Schoolchildren donned colourful African attire amid Black History Month activities which help teach youngsters all about the motherland. St John’s Catholic Primary School and Christ the King High School – which showed three movies to include last year’s hit The Woman King – are among those to mark the annual observance. Black History Month originated in the United States to remember important people and events in the history of the African diaspora.
