Hospital staff who have faced long, exhausting shifts amid the Covid-19 pandemic received a welcome boost from Sagicor.

The insurance firm donated 30 care packages containing essential hygiene and cleaning supplies to orderlies at Mount St John’s Medical Centre.

“We have heard countless stories of doctors and nurses working around the clock, jeopardising their own health and safety while working on the frontlines in this fight. But we know there are so many others, like the orderlies, who keep those systems operating efficiently and are also placing themselves and their families at risk,” said Sagicor’s unit manager Eural Baptiste.

“We at Sagicor would like to let them know that their efforts have not gone unnoticed and their sacrifices are not in vain. We are grateful for their contribution towards the Covid-19 fight and are thankful to them for making that difficult decision to continue to be of service during these unprecedented times.

“We say to them, we are grateful for you going out to battle for our safety.”
