Spanish Heat completed a come-from-behind 2-1 series win over Ottos Full Throttle as they advance to the next round of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 1 Playoffs on Tuesday with a 70-59 win in a decisive game three at the JSC basketball complex.
Spanish Heat dominated three of the four quarters contested, outscoring their opponents 18-9 in the opening quarter before winning the second quarter 18-15. Full Throttle rebounded to outshoot Spanish Heat 25-20 in the third but the victors claimed the fourth and final quarter 14-10.
Steven Matthew led the charge with 23 points on 10 of 17 shooting. Damian Floyd chipped in with 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Kelvyn Pimental added 16 points and snatched 16 rebounds.
Akeem Davis top scored for Full Throttle with 19 points while picking up 14 rebounds. Morlon Davis added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the losing effort.
