Simon brace leads Bethesda to welcomed Second Division triumph

O’Shale Simon recorded a brace as he led Bethesda FC to a 4-1 triumph over CPTSA Wings in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Second Division on Tuesday.

Simon scored in minutes 11 and 72 to lead the visitors’ charge as they move to seven points from five showings and seventh in the standings. There were single strikes from Chunsae Martin and Orson Lloyd in the 34th and 64th minutes respectively.

Ricky Johnson scored the lone goal for Wings in minute 36 from the penalty spot as they remain on three points and third from bottom on the 15-team standings.

Meanwhile, Golden Grove won by a similar 4-1 margin over Belmont FC.

Playing at home, Golden Grove had goals from Darryl Samuel in the 45th minute, Justin Periera in the 48th minute, Curt Francis in the 59th minute and Akeem Francis in minute 73.

Iandre Hodge had given Belmont FC the lead with a seventh minute conversion.

Also on Tuesday, Freemans Village FC defeated English Harbour 1-0 when they met in English Harbour.

Kahlique Kellman scored the lone goal of the contest with an 18th minute strike.
