Defending Playoff champions, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board (ABTB) and newbies, Pointe FM, will battle it out in the finals of the Cool and Smooth sponsored Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business League.
Both teams secured their spot in the final Sunday night at the JSC Sports Complex.
Newbies, Pointe FM stunned the 2018 league champions, Sandals, edging them out 64-61 in the first of the two semi-final encounters.
Sandals seemingly had the game under wraps but with Keroi “Dragon” Lee fouling out with a minute to go, that hope quickly disappeared as Pointe FM rose to the occasion to send the champions home.
Lee exited the match with 14 points.
Selassie Braithwaite was the leading scorer for the victors with 15 points while teammates, Kenya Achom and Russel Daley netted 14 and 13 points respectively.
Devorn Benjamin sank 14 points for Sandals.
Transport board made it to their second straight play-off final after recording a 62-53 victory over Anjo Wholesale.
Bryan “Hollywood” Matthew led the charge with 24 points.
He was assisted by Marlon “Buju” Charles and Kareem “Macky” Edwards who chipped in with 15 and 12 points.
Anjo’s Sharife Sergeant had 17 points while teammate Steven Matthew sank 12.
Game one of the best of three final will shoot off tonight at 7:30 at the JSC Sports Complex.
