“They were not banned” is the response of NEWSCO/OBSERVER media’s Station Manager, Dave Lester Payne when asked about Democratic National Alliance’s (DNA) claim that its freedom of speech had been stifled by OBSERVER Radio.

Payne denied that politics was involved in the station’s decision to remove the DNA as a staple on OBSERVER AM’s Thursday line-up.

“They were not banned and I see a statement that they are banned from the station. They are free, based on our invitation, to come on the station and continue. Thursday mornings is the only time that we are allocating to Barbuda Council,” he revealed.

The Station Manager said that the radio slots are not monetised and that there was no contractual agreement with the minority party.
