Barbuda’s controversial Peace Love and Happiness (PLH) project is set to be scaled back, omitting the marina, amid concerns developers are not adhering to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) approved plans.

A resolution was passed Tuesday evening after the Barbuda Council met with the DOE and concluded that developers were not paying close enough attention to the project’s environmental impact.

Barbuda’s MP Trevor Walker told OBSERVER media there was still anxiety about the planned golf course, adding, “We are just waiting to get those studies to see if the golf course is possible.”

Ambassador Diann Black-Layne confirmed the department’s recommendations to remove the marina. She said the master plans for the development had been adjusted and a new plan drafted and passed.
