A family from Lightfoot is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 24-year-old Noah Hurst who has been missing for approximately a week, having been last seen on Tuesday, May 23.

Noah – who was recently employed at the Herbert’s Main Road hardware store, Veg International – is said to be approximately 5 feet and 11 inches tall and weighing between 135 and 145 pounds.

According to his mother, Maria Hurst, his whereabouts are a genuine mystery, as he was behaving normally on the night he was last seen.

The family sounded an alarm days later after he was found not to be in his bedroom as expected, and repeated calls to his cell phone went unanswered.

“The night of that same Tuesday, I felt a bit tired so I went in my room and left them outside. He’s the one who locked the doors and the windows, he had the keys and everything.

“The Wednesday morning when I woke up, it was raining a bit…[and] I was hustling to get ready [for work]. To be honest, I did not go into his room that morning, because I know he didn’t have to go to work at Veg, I didn’t go and call him.

“When I came home the Wednesday night, I didn’t see him and I called him [but] he did not answer. Before I went to sleep, I kept calling and didn’t get him. On Thursday morning when I woke up, I called him [but] I still didn’t hear him, so that afternoon after I worked, I went to the police headquarters and I gave a statement there about [the situation]”, Maria told our newsroom.

She explained too that she is concerned about his physical condition, as he was not wearing much clothing when he was last seen and all his belongings – including his cell phone – were left at home.

“The phone is silent and it was disconnected from the Wi-Fi, which I found very strange [because] Noah is a young man that [always has his] phone. So, I don’t know how he would ever go anywhere and leave his phone.

“Another thing that I find very strange as time goes by is, I’m wondering what shoes he had on, because his shoes are here. He has some old slippers in the yard that drags on his feet if he’s going to the shop and in his bedroom, all his shoes are there.

“I don’t [even] know if he had on any clothes, because the Tuesday night when I was out there with them, he was only in his boxers and he doesn’t really wear shirts when he’s home,” she added.

Maria revealed that she has made subsequent reports to other police stations and remains hopeful that her son will be found soon.

Anyone with information on Noah’s whereabouts is being urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913/462-3914, or the nearest police station.
