A brace from Shalon Knight led Swetes FC to a 3-1 victory over Ottos Rangers FC in the feature encounter of a triple header evening on Saturday night in the ongoing Antigua Premier League (APL).

Knight got the ball rolling for the victors by scoring in the 40th minute at the ABFA Technical facility in Paynters. He would continue that form in the second half as he found the back of the net once again, this time in minute 79.

His teammate Tiquan Isaac rounded off the goal spree for Swetes with a strike in the 84th minute.

Lloyd Jeremy got one back for Ottos Rangers FC in minute 73.

The Liberta Blackhawks, after a long battle with the ABFA, did not get off to a great start in their first contest of the season as they fell to FC Aston Villa 2-1.

Despite a 69th minute strike from Lennox ‘Fox’ Julian, the 2019/2020 APL champions could garner their first three points of the competition.

Tyrique Hughes and Jaheim Feron were the goalscorers for the victors.

In the other APL match-up that day, Willikies FC defeated Tryum FC 1-0.

D’Jarie Sheppard was the lone goalscorer.

A day earlier All Saints United trounced Parham FC 4-0, while in the lone First Division encounter, Fort Road FC edged out JSC Progressors 2-1.
