JSS and SNRA clinched victories with two run wins

The Ministry of Sports School League Under 15 Cricket Competition came to life on Friday with two thrilling matches with similar outcomes as Jennings Secondary School (JSS) and Sir Novelle Richards Academy (SNRA) won their matches by two run margins.

Playing away at the McPond Ground in All Saints, Jennings batted first reaching 113 for 5 from 19 overs with Estan Hill cracking 31 runs for the visitors, while Malkiel Moses picked up three for 24.

In reply, the home side fell two runs short by getting to 111 all out in 17.5 overs. The chief destroyer for Jennings was Akez France who collected his maiden fiver with figures of five for 11 runs.

Neon Joseph was the highest run getter for the All Saints Secondary School.

The other match played at the Clare Hall Secondary School Grounds saw the home side going down by two runs against SNRA.

Batting first, SNRA posted a defendable 82 for six from their 17 overs. Cheldon Charles were their best batsman with 25 runs, while Jordan Costello picked up three for seven runs from his four overs for the home side.

In response, Clare Hall could only get to 80, falling two runs short as Shawn Harris dismantled the CHSS batting lineup ,picking up four for 14 runs.

Only Deontae Nathaniel got to double figures as he stroked 19 but there were also 46 extras.
