Team Antigua Island Girls is US $25,000 short of reaching the US $150,000 required to enter the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge.
The team which recently took 74 hours to row around the island, must also raise additional funds to support their cause, Cottage of Hope.
The cottage is a group home for orphaned and abused girls.
To date, the Hadeed Group of companies is the team’s main sponsor, with a contribution of US $75,000.
The Jumby Bay Fund has also pledged US $50,000 to the team.
Team Antigua Island Girls’ coach, Eli Fuller expressed satisfaction, with the level of sponsorship the team is receiving.
