The upcoming Local Government by-election in Barbuda will surprisingly feature an independent candidate. Word that Hesketh Daniel would be making a bid for the vacant seat on the Barbuda Council had reached OBSERVER media early yesterday, and confirmation came later in the day.
Yesterday, while speaking to the media after his nomination, Daniel expressed confidence that he would successfully contest the council position.
“I am confident. I’m feeling good and I know I will get the support of the people of Barbuda. This is going to bring a difference into the council that we are waiting a long time – to stop the division and just join and unite together and let’s build this country together.”
