Anderson E. Carty Greenbay United pushed their undefeated streak to 3-0 last Friday in the ongoing Myron “Percy” Phillip Invitational Football League in Golden Grove.
United handed Green City a 4-2 defeat with goals from Calvin Goodman, Omega Jeffrey, Tamarley “Ziggy” Thomas and Nickardo Lindsay by way of penalty kick.
Carllon Warner and Sylvester Fenton were the goal-scorers for Green City.
This win pushes United to the top of the Group B standings with nine points, while Green City remains in the third position with four points.
Twenty-four hours later at the same venue, Nabu Samuel Cutting Edge FA defeated Daddy Sweet Trucking, DNA Plant Nursery, Barnes Funeral Home, Hyaena Construction Nat Pan My Team (NPMT) by a 3-0 margin.
Neal Browne, Ranja Williams and Jahquan Francis hit home for the victors to move them into the top spot in Group A with nine points, while NPMT remain in the fourth position with three points.
Tryum FC were also victorious that day, beating Tamo FC 2-0.
Akeem Francis and Dajazmatch Christian were the goal-scorers for Tryum who now sit in the third spot while Tamo remain at the bottom of the seven-team standings.
Matches will continue on Monday at 5 pm as George Whener Cool Runnings will battle Demolition.
