A number of farmers are this morning protesting against a government programme with Chinese agriculture technicians.
The farmers want the current programme and related projects to be stopped until they have an input and it is revised. In addition to protesting by gathering at the Greencastle Estate in Bendals where the Chinese are operating, they are also writing to Chinese Embassy, a source at the protest confirmed.
This morning the farmers gathered at the stadium and then moved off to where the Chinese farmers are operating and they are planning to proceed to the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters where they hope to speak with officials and register their concerns.
More details will be shared as the information becomes available.
