Local cricket fans will be able to purchase physical tickets for the upcoming ICC T20 World matches here in Antigua from the end of April.

This is according to ICC’s marketing and media officer for Antigua, Shelana George, who revealed that fans will soon be able to purchase tickets at an easily accessible location in St John’s.

“There are tickets available right now online at www.tickets.t20worldcup.com and it’s across the board and, as you know, it’s a first come, first served basis so you have to hustle and go get your tickets. Also, we will have a physical box office that will be opening at the end of April or early May so people will be able to go and purchase their physical tickets,” she said.

“We have confirmed that it [box office] will be at the ARG in terms of the box office on Independence Drive. There are two boxes with one on Coronation Road and the other on Independence Drive, so it’s the one on Independence Drive,” she added.

George, who was speaking on the Good Morning Jojo sports show at the time, said general admission tickets will cost under US$10 while tickets are also available for the popular party stand.

“We officially launched party stand as of [April 15] where we went live in all host territories and tickets are as low as US$25. Presently, because tickets are as low as US$6 [general admission], we have not made an official announcement as to whether there will be a discount for pensioners and schoolchildren,” the media officer said.

A total of 55 matches will be played between 20 teams in this year’s tournament, which will be played in the West Indies and the USA. The first round will be held across nine cities, making it the largest T20 World Cup in history.

Antigua will host a total of seven matches in the prestigious tournament with four of those matches coming in the group stages and three Super 8 matches held between June 9 and 23 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
