Contractor charged with attempted murder

The building contractor, who allegedly shot one of his workers in Barbuda on Sunday, is now charged with attempted murder.
On Tuesday, the police charged 54-year-old Desbones James St. John of Upper Gambles with the attempted murder of James Elliott of #3 Cassada Gardens.
He was further charged with unlawful possession of one Jennings 9mm pistol and unlawful possession of 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
He is expected before the Court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the police are calling upon residents in Barbuda, who may have witnessed this incident, or have information that can assist in the investigation to contact the Serious Crimes Unit within the Criminal Investigations Department at 464-3943 or 720-9162.
