National Sprinter Cejhae Greene claimed a third-place finish in a star-studded line-up over the weekend.

The Antiguan and Barbudan sprinter ran a time of 10 seconds flat in the Men’s 100m dash at the Miramar Invitational in Florida, finishing behind of Americans Kyree King and Justin Gatlin who claimed first and second place, respectively, in a time of 9.97seconds and 9.98seconds.

The Princess Margaret School (PMS) graduate qualified for the finals after winning his heat in a time of 10.02 seconds ahead of Americans Kyree King (10.03) and Marvin Bracy (10.08).

This bronze medal comes just weeks after the 25-year-old Willikies native, qualified for the Olympics with a time of 10.01seconds, which at the time, was the world leading 100meter time for men.

Meanwhile, Antiguan and Barbudan sprint queen Joella Lloyd continues to make a name for herself on the US collegiate circuit.

Lloyd, representing the University of Tennessee, finished third at the Tennessee Relays in the Women’s 100m dash on Friday.

Running a time of 11.52 seconds, the Antigua Girls High School (AGHS) alumni finished behind teammate Maia McCoy (11.23) and Cincinnati College’s Caisja Chandler (11.38) who claimed first and second respectively.

The freshman was also a part of the school’s 4x100m winning team.

The team of Jada Chambers, Joella Lloyd, Saqukine Cameron and Maia McCoy ran a season best 44.26seconds. This run is the No. 10 time in the country during the 2021 campaign.
