Blue Waters and Burtons Laundry picked up much needed wins on Wednesday night at the JSC Sports Complex in the ongoing Cool and Smooth sponsored Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business league.
Blue Waters edged out newbies, FLOW 49-47 in the second match of the five-game night.
Led by Ishan Peets with 14 points and Tristan Jacobs with 10, the victors moved to 8th on the 20-team standings with a 9-6 record.
FLOW’s Leroy Percival had 11 points in a losing effort.
Burton’s Laundry joined Blue Waters in the winner’s circle after edging out the young and vibrant Dadli Designs team 58-52.
The feature match saw Darren Jeanville lead the charge with 19 points with assistance from Damion “Duckman” Floyd who sank 18 and Rudyard Phillip 11.
With this win, Burtons now move to 10th place with an 8-5 record.
In the other matches played that night, Eye Mobile Vision Care defeated Fitzroy Rewinding 66-52 while Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) United went under to APUA Head Office 75-47.
Ahmani Browne had 22 points for Eye Mobile while Fitzroy’s Eric Joseph and Kwame Payne netted 16.
Olivee’ Morris had a game high 35 points for APUA head Office while Airport’s David Roberts sank 19.
The Cool and Smooth ABBA Business league will host its ‘Bring Ya Cooler and Come’ All-Star day today starting at 7 p.m. at the JSC Sports Complex.
