The Benna Boys opened their 2018 Under-20 CONCACAF Championship campaign with a 6-1 trouncing of Sint Maarten on Thursday at the IMG Academy in Florida.
Mohammad Hakeem recorded a hattrick for the victors in the Group C encounter scoring in the 13th, 29th and 39th minutes.
T.J. Bramble opened the flood gates for Team Antigua and Barbuda as early as the 12th minute while teammates Javorn Benjamin and Keon Greene found the back of the net in the 69th and 86th minutes.
St. Maarten’s Jaeremi Drijvers pulled one back in the 16th minute.
The Benna boys will hope to secure a top two finish in Group C despite facing tough competition from Cuba, Honduras, Dominican Republic and Belize.
The team will look to continue on their high note when they face Belize today at 12:45 p.m.
