The Under-20 male football team’s undefeated streak was broken on Monday afternoon as the Benna Boys went under to the Dominican Republic, 3-0.
The Benna Boys, having recorded wins over St. Maarten and Belize in  their Group C matches, found themselves playing with a man down as Akeem Isaac received a red card  after getting two yellow cards.
The Dominican Republic took advantage of the opportunity when captain Gerard Lavergne hit home in the 44th minute, just before the halftime whistle.
Both teams came back out to battle, but frustration would soon hit Antigua and Barbuda as Lavergne once again struck home for the Dominican Republic in the 54th minute.
The dismal day continued for the young Benna Boys when they found themselves with another man down after Daniel Nanton was sent off by the referee for committing a foul.
A minute later, the celebrations would continue for Dominican Republic as  Brian Lopez scored the final goal to claim their first win and gain their first three points.
With this loss, Antigua and Barbuda sits in the third position on the 6-team standings with six points after three showings.
Despite having an identical record as Cuba, the Benna Boys however edged them out with a plus- five goal average to Antigua and Barbuda’s plus-four.
Honduras remain at the top of the standings with a full nine points after three showings.
Both teams will clash as they are scheduled to face off today at 6:30 p.m.
