The Antigua and Barbuda Under 20 Football Team gave their all but it was not enough to get them to progress to the next stage of the Concacaf Under 20 Cup as they went under to an unbeaten El Salvador side with a 1-nil loss.

The Antiguan players knew that they needed to win the match by three goals, which was a tough task against the best team in the group.

However, the youngsters showed great courage by keeping up a sustained offensive attack with a total of 16 shots with nine being on target.

The only goal of the match came from the boot of Christopher Guardodo in the 57th minute from a corner kick.

The striker was able to rise above his opponents to send the ball into the back of the net to the dismay of the Antiguan players and supporters alike.

Antigua and Barbuda finished third in the group with six points behind Suriname who placed second with nine points, while El Salvador topped the group with 10 points.

In the earlier match of the day, Suriname handed Turks and Caicos a proper walloping with a 7-2 victory.
