Chairman of the Barbuda Council Knacyntar Nedd is declining to comment on a backlog of outstanding wages that has been plaguing the council.
Observer media has learnt that workers of the Barbuda council did not receive salaries this week bringing arrears to four weeks.
When OBSERVER media contacted the chairman this morning for a report, she said she did not want comment on the issue at the time.
Member of Parliament for Barbuda Arthur Nibbs, told our newsroom that he could not speak definitively on the issue but says if workers did not receive their wages it is because there are no resources.
Unpaid wages have been an ongoing problem for the Barbuda council and its workers for a long time.
Some workers members are very concerned, especially with the reopening of school just two weeks away.
