Andy ‘Gantone’ Nesbitt Football Cup to kick off this week

Six teams are set to battle it out in the inaugural Andy ‘Gantone’ Nesbitt Kings & Queens Ah De Ghetto Football Cup.

The competition will kick off on August 9 and culminate on August 15 with both a male and female division.

In the male section, four teams from the Grays Green area, Empire FC, Five Islands FC, Hoppers FC and Lion Hill FC will face off against each other, while in the female category, Empire Star Girls and Nabu Samuel’s Cutting Edge FC will compete.

Matches will be played at 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm at the King George V Grounds.

A $2000 cash prize is up for grabs for the winner of the male league, while the female winner will receive $800.

Runners-up in the male division will get a $1000, and third place $500, and player of the finals will receive $200.

Most-goal awardee will receive $125, while for the female section, the second-place team will get $500, and the player of the finals, $150.

The female Most-goals awardee will get $100.

All of the top placed teams and individuals will receive a trophy.

On opening night, Empire FC and Hoppers FC will clash at 5:00 pm, while at 6:30 pm Lion Hill FC will play Five Islands FC.
