Antigua & Barbuda’s kite-surfer, Tiger Tyson, placed the country amongst the winners at the TTR Open Weifang competition held in China from September 8 to 13.
The 14-year-old athlete represented Antigua & Barbuda in the Twin Tip Racing and KiteFoil divisions of the competition.
The feat has also boosted Tyson’s chances of qualifying for the 2018 Youth Olympics in Twin Tip Kiteboard Racing.
The young athlete is expected to remain in China where he will represent Antigua & Barbuda in the Open World Championships, along with the KiteFoil GoldCup Pingtan.
The competitions will take place between September 18 and 23.
