Young Butler Claims Bronze at Carifta Triathlon

Antigua and Barbuda’s Meleah Butler registered an overall third place at this year’s Carifta Triathlon and Aquathlon held in the Bahamas over the weekend

Meleah, the daughter of national cyclist Tamiko Butler, competed in the 13-15 age category.

The athlete had a top five finish in Saturday’s triathlon, registering a time of 41 minutes and 42 seconds. She however had a great comeback on Sunday, finishing the swim in 13th position before completing the run in the fastest time of 10 minutes and 29 seconds.

Isabella Mayers of Barbados and Somers Estwanik of Bermuda were first and second, respectively. Alexis Lashley of Barbados and Madison Schindel of Bermuda round off the top five.
