Tennis players get a fair start in ongoing Trinidad Summer Bowl

Antigua and Barbuda got off to a fairly good start in the COTECC Trinidad Summer Bowl over the weekend.

The Under-14 event saw the St. Lucia U14 girls doubles champion Brasha Dyer win her first match versus fellow Antiguan Aysha Hosam with a 4-0, 4-0 score line in their girls singles match.

Zoey James followed suit beating Antiguan Ariel Kelsick 4-5(5), 4-2, 10-8; while the St. Lucia U14 Consolation singles girls champion Janae George-Alexander went under to fellow Antiguan Sibley Charles, falling 4-0, 4-1.

Samaar Davis was also victorious on Day One of the event, beating Sydney Kentish 4-0, 4-1.

Jaiden Julien kept the trend rolling for Antigua and Barbuda as he won his boys singles match 4-2, 2-4, 10-2 over Tyler Hart of Trinidad and Tobago.

Justyn Raeburn however suffered his first loss, falling to Nathan Martin of Trinidad and Tobago 2-4, 1-4.

Matches continued earlier today in round 2 of the consolation and main draw.
