Stoneville and Paragons were crowned men’s and women’s champions in the Antigua and Barbuda Volleyball Association (ABVA) President’s Cup tournament on Monday night after both tournaments climaxed at the indoor volleyball court located at the YMCA Sports Complex.
Clashing against Pythonz in the men’s competition, Stoneville made light work of their opponents to win 3-0 in sets. The foundation team won 25-23, 25-18 and 25-22 to dominate the contest and lift this year’s title.
Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Paragons controlled their championship decider against F&G Trading Jets to win 3-1 in sets.
Paragons claimed the first set by a 25-17 margin but were begged back in the second set, losing 28-25. Paragons rebounded however, taking the third set 25-16 before going on to claim the fourth set by a 25-12 margin.
Da Squad finished third in the female division while High Flyers were third in the male division.
