The quarterfinals for the Cool and Smooth-sponsored Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business League is set.
The top eight teams will battle it out on Tuesday night at the JSC Sports Complex in the one-game elimination playoffs for a semi-finals spot.
Sandals, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board (ABTB), Anjo Wholesale and Kennedys secured the first four spots on Saturday night while on Sunday, Blue Waters, APUA Head Office, Eye Mobile Vision Care and Pointe FM claimed the final four spots.
Blue Waters edged out Fitzroy Rewinding 55-50 in the first match of the quadruple-header night.
Tristan Jacobs and Errol Quallis led the victors with 12 points each while Eric Joseph had a game- high 24 points for Rewinding.
APUA Head Office sent Dadli Designs packing with a 72-66 thumping.
Kwame “Special K” Braithwaite led the charge with 19 points while Damani Edwards netted 17 in a losing effort.
Despite a 30-point effort by Nigel “Snarks” Joseph, Dixie could not pull off the upset and went fishing as they went under to Eye Mobile 82-63.
Adonis Humphreys and Ahmani Browne sank 17 points each for the victors.
In the other match played that night, newbies Pointe FM advanced to their first quarter-finals with a 63-53 victory over Burton’s Laundry.
Russell Daley had 22 points for Pointe FM while Bruce Whyte netted 17 for Burton’s.
The quarterfinals will shoot off on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. when Anjo will battle APUA Head Office.
Games will continue at 7:30 p.m. when the 2018 League champions, Sandals, will face Blue Waters, and then at 8:30 p.m. Kennedys will meet Pointe FM.
Eye Mobile and the defending playoff champions, Transport Board will face off at 9:30 p.m.
The quarterfinals will follow the one-game elimination format.
