India are through to the final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup following an emphatic 96 runs victory over Australia at the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) on Wednesday in the second semifinal showdown.

They will face England in Saturday’s final at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, India compiled a massive 290 for five in their allotted 50 overs with captain Yash Dhull leading the way with a run-a-ball 110. He slammed 10 fours and one six before he was run out by Jack Nisbit.

Shaik Rasheed fell just six runs short of a century as he smashed eight fours and one six on his way to 94 off 108 deliveries.

Nisbit and William Salzmann each picked up two wickets for the Australians. Nisbit claimed two for 41 in nine overs while Salzmann grabbed two for 57 in 10 overs.

Australia had little answer with the bat, crumbling at 194 all out with their best effort coming from Lachlan Shaw who faced 66 deliveries for his 51. There was 38 from Corey Miller while opener Campbell Kellaway chapped in with 30.

Vicky Ostwal picked up three wickets for 42 runs bowling for India. Ravi Kumar snagged two for 37 in six overs while Nishant Sindhu claimed two for 25 in six overs.
