Hot Tool and East Bank Demerara to meet in the finals

Hot Tool and East Bank Demerara will battle it out in the finals of the Denfield “Tody” Thomas Memorial football league in Liberta.
Both teams advanced to the finals of the small goal league on Wednesday afternoon.
East Bank had a rough journey in securing the first spot to the finals after defeating Napoli, 2-1, in penalty kicks after both teams ended the regular time dead-locked at 1-1.
Josh Donaldson scored the equalising goal for Napoli after East Bank’s Craig Thompson drew first blood.
Hot Tool however had an easier route to the finals, handing Jah Youths a 1-0 defeat with the lone strike coming from Kimoi ‘Dan one’ Alexander.
The finals will shoot off this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. while the third-place match will kick off at 5 p.m.
Meanwhile in the Anderson E. Carty Grays Green football league, Cool Runnings and El Guapo advanced to the semi-finals at the King George V Grounds.
El Guapo edged out Ghetto Youths Connection, 1-0 with Rakeem Joseph scoring the winning goal while Cool Runnings trounced Real Stats, 2-0 to secure the final two semi-final spots.
Odell Murray scored both goals for the victors.
El Guapo will now face Cool Runnings at 5 p.m. on Saturday while Hoppers will battle Sunday Morning Ballers on Sunday at 6:15 p.m.
Manchester jumped to second place in the 10-team standings in the Sandals Grande Antigua, Trade Winds hotel, Star Point Ltd.-Larry’s Service station Fort Road football league.
Manchester recorded a 2-1 win over Demolition with goals from Ayo Simon and Mervyn Hazelwood.
Demolition’s Shaquille Watkins scored the lone goal and remain in the fourth spot.
In the New Winthorpes football league, Bullets trounced 5P’s, 2-0.
