Hoppers out as Haiti’s Racing FC advances in Club Championships

Haiti’s Racing FC has advanced from Group A of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championships staged here over the last few days.
Racing defeated Antigua & Barbuda’s Greenbay Hoppers 3-0 at the Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG) on Sunday night to solidify their place in the finals slated for 14-21 May.
Haiti topped Group A with 7 points alongside Surinam’s Inter Moengotapoe also with 7 points. Racing however boasts a plus 6-goal difference, one more than Surinam who ended with a plus 5.
Hoppers finished third with three points following back-to-back losses. They went under to Inter Moengotapoe 3-0 on Friday before Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Haiti.
The Antiguans had previously defeated St. Vincent & the Grenadines’ Bequia United 2-1 last Wednesday.
Starting March 1, the Antigua & Barbuda’s Grenades FC will contest Group C in Jamaica. They will face hosts Montego Bay on Wednesday at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
The other teams in the group are Elite Sports Club out of the Cayman Islands and Barcelona Atletico out of the Dominican Republic.
