A second half conversion from striker Tevaughn Harriette propelled the Antigua and Barbuda Benna Boys to a 2-1 victory over Aruba in Group C of League B in the CONCACAF Nations League here on Monday at the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Technical Centre on Factory Road.

Harriette, who made his official return to the starting line-up after recovering from a leg injury, struck in minute 69 to put the home team ahead after Aruba’s Annuar Kock had drawn the visitors level during first half added time with a close range header.

D’Andre Bishop had given the Benna Boys the advantage on the eighth minute when he sent his angled effort into the far left hand corner of the net from just outside the six-yard box following a solo effort.

The home team however struggled in defence throughout the contest and gave up some eight chances in the first half alone while Aruba gave up only four.

Aruba gave the home support a serious scare in the second half when Joshua Gross came close to putting them in the lead. The player successfully rounded goalkeeper Molvin James but could only watch as his 65th minute opportunity sailed just wide of the far post.

With the result, Antigua and Barbuda finish their September fixtures with three points, while Aruba leave empty-handed after going winless in their first two CNL matches.

Antigua and Barbuda were beaten 6-0 by Jamaica last Friday in Jamaica.
