Football Association Names Benna Boys Squad For Guyana Clash

The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) has named a 23-member squad and three reserves as the senior men’s national team gets set to take on a visiting Guyana team in the CONCACAF Nation’s League here at the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) technical centre on Saturday.

The squad, which includes six UK-based players, will be led by Jennings United midfielder Quinton Griffith. He is joined by UK-based players Josh Parker (striker), defender Aaron Taylor Sinclair, Sutton United’s defender Dion Periera, winger for Maidenhead United Ashley Nathaniel George, Dagenham & Redbridge’s Myles Weston (midfielder) and Welling United’s midfielder, Thomas-James Bramble.

The other members of the team are goalkeepers Murphy Brent Parker (Jennings Grenades FC), Zaieem Scott (Green City FC) and Jayden Martin (Liberta Blackhawks FC); defenders Vashami Allen (Jennings Grenades FC), Roneba Cordice (All Saints United FC), Kieron Richards (Jennings Grenades FC), Leroy Graham (All Saints United) and Zafique Drew (All Saints United). 

Also included are midfielders Kendukah Challenger (All Saints United FC), Mohammed Hakeem (Basford United FC), D’Andre Bishop and Raheem Deterville (Old Road FC), Shalon Knight (Swetes FC), Drake Hadeed (North Coast United FC) and Kwame-Ture Kirby (FC Aston Villa). 

Forwards Junior Benjamin (Ottos Rangers FC) and Javorn Stevens (Greenbay Hoppers FC) round off the selections.

The reserve players are midfielder Zaire Scott (Green City FC), midfielder Akeem Isaac (Pigotts Bullets SC) and forward Keon Green (Cedar Grove Blue Jays).

The team will be coached by UK-based Anthony Ferguson with former national player George Dublin as his assistant coach. Former national goalkeeper Janeil Simon has been selected as goalkeeper coach, Danny Benjamin as equipment manager, Hector Martinez as trainer, Anayra Ruiz Lee as masseur and Harley Agramonte as physiotherapist.

Team manager is Jason Peters with Fernando Abraham as National Teams Coordinator.

Saturday’s match will start at 3:30pm. Antigua and Barbuda will then travel to the Bahamas where they will take on Puerto Rico on Tuesday
