FLOW upset Burton’s Laundry

FLOW pulled off a big upset on Saturday night at the JSC Sports Complex beating powerhouse, Burton’s Laundry, 67-52 in the feature match of the Cool and Smooth Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business league.
The newbies brought the fight from the first whistle to record their third win of the season, stunning Burton’s laundry who could not find the momentum needed to curb the pressure.
Percy Adams led the victors with 16 points while teammates, Benjamin “Benjie” Meade and Shamari Bascus sank 13 and 11 points respectively.
Kelvin Simon scored 18 for Burton’s while Darius Richards contributed 14 points in a losing effort.
Burton’s now hold a 6-5 record.
While, Sandals now find themselves tied for the top spot with defending champions, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board.
Sandals, having recorded an 84-56 thrashing of newbies, Mill Reef on Saturday night, jumped to 11-1 identical to that of Transport board.
Jamal “Buffy” Williams was the leading scorer for the victors with 15 points.
He was assisted by teammates Kebo Orford and Willis Drew who netted 13 points each and Keroi “Dragon” Lee who chipped in with 12.
Mill Reef’s Curtis Daniel had 17 points while teammate Nigel Fergus sank 13.
In the other matches played that night, Anjo’s Wholesale defeated Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority 88-56 while Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT) went under to Dadli Designs 73-54.
Humroy Wright netted a game high 31 points for Anjo while Evans Jones scored 13 for Airport.
Dadli Designs’ Alexis Jackson had 20 points while Ricky James of ABIIT sank 13.
