Elites named back-to-back champions

It was celebration time for Wadadli Eye Mobile Elites as they were crowned playoff champions for the second consecutive year on Wednesday night in Division Three of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA).

Playing at the JSC Sports Complex, Elites rounded off the best of five playoff finals versus F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays III, winning 3-1, with an 83-73 score-line.

The lone encounter of the evening saw Teran Zachariah lead the charge with 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals.

He was assisted by Jamar Bird who had 12 points and five rebounds and Ronde Davis who netted 10.

Kevorn “KC” Cornwall was the leading scorer for the Ojays with 18 points while teammates Shamari Bascus and Benjamin Meade chipped in netting 14 and 11 points respectively.

Meade added an additional six assists to his tally.

All attention will now turn to the Division Two and One playoff finals as Police Vertex lead Kennedy’s Ottos Coolers 2-0 while Stingerz and F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays are tied at 1-1.
