As the curtains closed on the Under-14 section of the Wadadli Bowl, Antiguan player Samaar Davis walked away with the Girls Singles title in the Main Draw at the National Tennis Centre.

Davis defeated Iyana Paul of St. Lucia 6-2, 6-1 in the finals on Wednesday to hoist the title.

She then secured her second title of the day as she partnered up with Zoey James to defeat Paul and Aysha Hosam 7-5, 6-2 in the Girls Doubles finals.

Fellow Antiguan Jaiden Julien, however, fell short in the boys’ finals, going under to Bermudian Antonio Warner 6-3, 6-3.

Warner then teamed up with Guyanese player Vadeanand Resaul to claim the Boys Doubles title, trouncing Jace Quashie (Trinidad and Tobago) and Justyn Raeburn 6-0, 6-3.

Meanwhile, the Under-18 category of the COTECC event will see a number of players battle it out in both the semi-finals and quarterfinals later this week.

Antiguan Sibley Charles and partner Serena Bryan (Barbados) will battle Sifa Butcher and Sydney Clarke in the Girls Doubles Quarterfinals.

Country woman Aayana Evanson will partner with Alexis Bruce as they face Jade Marie and Audrey Moutana in another quarterfinals encounter.
